Our Story: From Perrutribu to Pets Tribe

Our adventure in the pet world began when we moved to Costa Rica in search of a better quality of life for our family.

A friend suggested the idea of opening a small pet hotel at home, a project that would not only support us financially but also give us the flexibility and closeness we wanted to raise our children while building something meaningful.

At that time, we didn’t have a pet, so in 2012 we welcomed Marci, our pug, into the family to better understand the needs of dogs and their owners.

We soon realized that a dog is so much more than just a pet. With Marci, we experienced a true sense of parental love — caring about her meals, her growth, and her emotional well-being. She became as important to us as our children, a genuine member of our family. Today, Marci is 12 years old and continues to be the heart and greatest inspiration behind our business, both in Costa Rica and now in Houston.

At Perrutribu, we created a warm and welcoming environment where dogs felt safe and loved while their owners were away. We offered comfortable rooms, cozy beds, and fun play areas. Each day included play sessions and photo updates so families could see their pets enjoying their stay.

Over the years, we became one of the top-rated dog hotels in Costa Rica and were featured on national television programs and in local newspapers. One of our most popular services was PerruTaxi, a convenient pick-up and drop-off service that made life easier for our clients.

In 2022, we brought all that experience and love for pets to Houston, Texas , and Pets Tribe was born. We began with mobile dog grooming, quickly earning the trust of hundreds of families thanks to our professionalism, convenience, and truly personalized care.

Today, after establishing a strong mobile operation, Pets Tribe takes another exciting step with its new location in Katy, Texas, offering dog boarding and doggy daycare services designed exclusively for small and medium-sized dogs (up to 16 kg).

With the same passion, dedication, and high standards that made us leaders in Costa Rica, we continue to build a community where every pet is part of our Pets Tribe family.
